​Humans in North America

It's long been thought that humans arrived in southern parts of North America via an ice-free corridor between glaciers around 13,000 – 16,000 years before present. Recent evidence from a cave shelter rock in eastern Oregon pushes this date back to 18,000 to 20,000 years. Since the corridor was not open prior to this, it’s more likely that humans travelled along the coast by watercraft. This is covered in Chapter 9 on page 118. You can view a video about this here:
